Clinical Experience and Education
I come from a background of child development and therapeutic play as a Child Life Specialist working with chronically ill children in hospitals. I found that my time spent with the parents and families to be the most exciting and meaningful, motivating me to continue my training at New York University for a MSW in clinical social work. Psychotherapists with backgrounds in social work have a focused way of looking at the systems, environments, and social factors in your life that influence your overall well-being and ability to grow. My experience over the past five years working in an oncology setting have allowed me to help people facing history of trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, and the unique challenges that caregivers and patients face when dealing with a life-changing diagnosis. I look forward to hearing more about you and whatever questions starting therapy sessions elicit for you.
